Before the rise of the cell phone - October.1865, Port Ross, Enderby Island. .Inscription on Victoria tree by Cptn W. H. Norman reads "HMCS VICTORIA, Norman, in search of shipwrecked people, Oct 13th 1865". Cptn Musgrave was on board. Vessel sent from Melbourne. Castaway stores were left a suitable places around the Islands.
